I LOVE ANIMALS, I volunteer at a local animal shelter, and 90% of the time I prefer animals to humans, but that's only because they are always welcoming, loving, and forgiving. :) I'm a cosmetologist and I have been for 18+ years now. My clients and the ability to set my own schedule is what keeps me doing it. I'm a "step mom" to my boyfriends daughter, who lives with us 100% of the time, and I try my hardest to be a awesome role model so that she grows up to be even more awesome than she is already. I have decided that 2016 is my year to become a healthier, happier, more motivated version of my current self, and hopefully bring a few people along with me for the journey. It's never too late to get healthy and active.
I've had a really rough week (I have 3 sick dogs so I've gotten very little sleep), so I wasn't really feeling like doing this event in the allotted time frame, but I "challenged" myself to get it done anyways. I literally made myself get up off the couch where I was almost asleep, ( again...something I've gotten very little of lately) and started walking while my fur babies slept peacefully around me. Lol
I'm glad I did it though!! 😃😆
I did the majority of my mileage at my daughters orientation believe it or not. (Her school is being remodeled and due to construction the kids get to go between 5 or 6 different buildings now. Let's just say it took us about an hour to find all of her classrooms....Lol
After we got home I finished up the remainder of the mileage I needed in my house with my "jungle cat" Max, because the skeeter's are fierce this time of year around here, and I'm done being their blood bag. 😉
It was wet, 50°, and there were worms all over the track we were running on from the rain the day before and the morning of, but we did it!! :)
Hayle (my 12 year old) got a run time of 35.29 for 3.25 miles!
